Flower card

I couple years ago, I realized that buying cards was expensive, so I decided to make my own instead.

This morning, I made this:

Materials Needed:
  • scissors, manicure scissors (manicure scissors help with cutting circles)
  • two different sheets of colored, textured, or patterned paper (whatever you happen to have; Target sometimes sells packs of scrapbooking paper for a dollar)
  • a bead (for the middle)
  • poster paper or cardstock (for the card itself)
  • compass (yeah, geometry!)
  • pencil or pen
  • paper cutter (if you like straight lines and such)
1.  Draw and cut out circles using the compass; make one circle significantly smaller than the other. I always try turning the compass, and it always moves; it's easier if you turn the paper instead.

2. On the side of the paper that'll be glued down, draw a zigzag or wavy line around the circle. I drew a smaller circle inside to make sure the line was even. Cut the line you've drawn for a pointy or wavy edge to your circle.

3. Use the paper cutter to cut the poster paper into whatever size you want. I cut mine fairly narrow. Fold in half.

4. Glue the circles onto the paper, wherever you want them. I glued mine more towards the top. I also folded the smaller circle into eighths so it would stand up. Glue the bead in the middle of the smaller circle. If you want, you can add a stem and leaves. I curled mine by running the strip of paper along the blade of the scissor.

Finished! Very simple, very easy. :)
